 The
Steel industry is doing rather well out of Sport these days, as the latest
fashion for arenas and venues appears to be the erection of extravagant (and I
use that word in its nicest sense) roofs supported by large amounts of steel
tubing. One such venue is the Heritage Golf and Country Club in Laois, the
Republic of Ireland, which has just had over 200 tonnes of steel detailing
carried out prior to the club holding the European Senior Tour event next year.

 Steel construction has increasingly become more competitive with concrete
throughout the world, and the use of 3D modelling to detail projects has
significantly contributed to its competitiveness. The use of AceCad’s 3D steel
detailing system StruCad saved considerable time, effort and cost for steel
fabricators Hagiva Metal Works with their recent project to construct the steel
structure of the Ashdod Concert Hall.

 Smaralind Shopping Mall in Reykjavik is the largest building in
Iceland. Atlas Ward Ltd used AceCad's Detailing Department and StruCad software
to detail the steel roof structure. AceCad's Structural Design Office was
engaged to design the structural connections.
