AceCad Sponsors the South African Institute of Steelwork Construction School of Draughting.

AceCad Software is delighted to announce the sponsorship of the South African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC) School of Draughting in Germiston, South Africa. This exciting new venture pioneered jointly by the SAISC and DSE Structural Engineers and Contractors aims to provide the ultimate environment for students to learn and become competent structural steelwork detailers and will deliver all round superior knowledge of the structural steelwork industry.

AceCad Software is proud to be associated with this innovative project and has contributed by both sponsoring the project, providing computer workstations and further installing 25 StruCad licences to facilitate exclusive training of all students on the StruCad 3D structural steelwork detailing system. Mr Richard Brotherton, AceCad’s International Sales Director recently took the opportunity to visit the Draughting School and Principal Trainer Mr Howard Fox. Whilst visiting the School, Mr Richard Brotherton was able to showcase the latest release of StruCad - Version13 of the World's leading 3D structural steel detailing system and see at first hand the difference that AceCad’s commitment will make.

The School of Draughting will provide a two year Diploma which includes theoretical and practical work experience elements, geared towards providing the resources needed for students to build long term careers in structural detailing. Many items will be covered, from structural engineering theory and 2D draughting, through practical experience in detailing offices and the workshop floor, to advanced 3D modelling using StruCad and associated structural design aspects. Elements of estimating, quality control and project management will be integrated to ensure graduates will be very much able to contribute at all levels across the various departments and functions that combine to make a structural steelwork project successful. This mirrors AceCad Software’s cross functional approach that leads to a complete solution through the provision of Fabrication Information Modelling (FIM) via the integration of supply chains with StruCad and StruM.I.S .NET.
