StruCad Now Taught in Romania
The Department of Steel Structures
and Structural Mechanics of The Polytechnic University of Timisoara, Romania,
has just held it's first StruCad University training course. This course for
civil engineering students teaches not only StruCad – The Worlds Leading 3D
Steel Detailing System, but basic knowledge regarding the structural steel
industry and steel detailing.
Thirty four students subscribed to this first course using a University IT lab
equipped with PC’s configured with StruCad. All students have subsequently had
to undertake both oral and practical examination on StruCad and were all
required to produce a 3D model. The examinations were conducted on the 6th and
7th June and following the popularity and success of the course, AceCad
Software’s regional agent, Dinos Ioannidis of CCS, Greece, recently attended the
University to make a presentation, which was also covered by local newspaper and
TV.
According to Dinos
Ioannidis, the popularity of the course in Timisoara is due in part to the
course tutor, Dinu Florea, who has great knowledge and experience of steel
detailing using StruCad. ‘The potential that StruCad brings, as the World’s
Leading 3D Steel Detailing System, is clear and the constant demand for steel
structures and thus detailers using StruCad should result in significant future
opportunity for these graduates’.
Similar StruCad courses are taking place at additional universities in Romania
at the
Technical University of Civil Engineering,
Bucharest and the Technical
University of Cluj-Napoca,
as part of their official Civil Engineering curriculum's. The aim is to ensure
that at least 65 students per year graduate with StruCad experience and a
StruCad diploma.
